Mission and Vision

This mission and vision statement reflects the importance of collective efficacy, which is the shared belief among teachers, staff, students, families, and community partners that we can make a difference in student learning. When everyone in the community is working together towards a common goal, students are more likely to succeed.

Our actions will also ensure there is a strong focus on the importance of reading, math, social emotional learning, joyful learning experiences, attendance, meeting the needs of all students, student voice, parent empowerment, community partnerships, innovative learning experiences and student voice. These are all essential components of a well-rounded education that prepares students for success in college, career, and life.

By focusing on these areas, District 17 will create a culture of learning where all students have the opportunity to thrive.

We will work towards achieving our mission and vision by:

-Deepening our culture of collaboration and support among teachers, staff, students, families, and community partners.
-Creating a school community that is safe, supportive, and welcoming.
-Implementing evidence-based interventions for struggling students.
-Providing opportunities for students to engage in joyful learning experiences that are relevant to their interests and needs.
-Tracking student attendance and take steps to address absenteeism.
-Creating opportunities for students to have a voice in their education.
-Empowering parents to be partners in their children's education.
-Increasing strong partnerships with community organizations.
-Implementing innovative learning experiences that challenge and engage students.
-Ensuring all students are proficient readers by third grade.

By working towards these objectives, District 17 will create a brighter future for all students.
